1,038 respondents in K-20, 89% K-12, evenly distributed between elementary, secondary, and district level personnel.
Respondents were asked about the use of technology to collect, manage and report on individual student data. The results reflect the heightened awareness and need for student data in both K-12 and Post-secondary.
Most K-12 participants identified tracking student performance and improving instruction as the most important ways digital student data is currently being used, followed by identifying student instructional needs.
A vast majority (almost 70%) of the participants in both K-12 and Post-secondary report the use of technology to collect, manage, and report individual student data has increased or increased significantly in the last two years.
By wide margins, educators in K-12 say the way to increase the effective use of digital student data is to increase the training to use data systems. Training is cited almost twice as often as any other option.
